The base is made up of 100x50 PFC and 75x75x3mm PTD RHS. Linear rails are the standard chinese SBR20 supported round rails.


Stepper motor mounts and belt idler plates machined from ~10mm 6061 T651 aluminium, snapped an endmill part way though so used a couple of 4.3mm drill bits as pins to realign everything.



Table made from 19mm yellow tongue (structural grade particle board) grooved out with the circular saw and trim router, sail track used for the T-slots, custom 8mm T-slot nuts machined from 25mm sq ally bar to suit.


Gantry consists of 3 lengths of 30x60 extrusion left over from a previous build, bolted together through the T-slots and then a 6mm aluminium plate bolted on the back to tie it all together. X axis bearing plates and temporary gantry sides machined.
